In the remote village of Tizi N’Oucheg in the High Atlas, Ahmed El Bakkali is defying expectations. Once a shepherd with no access to electricity, today he leads a digital literacy initiative teaching young people coding and online entrepreneurship.
After studying computer science in Marrakech, Ahmed returned to his village with one mission: empower rural youth through technology. With a small grant and donated laptops, he started a program that has since trained over 200 teens.
“I didn’t want success to mean leaving my home behind,” he says.
Ahmed’s story reflects a broader movement: young Moroccans redefining success by lifting their communities while advancing digitally.
